        <![CDATA[<p>Over the course of 35 years Peggy has served the youth soccer community in a variety of positions.&nbsp; Peggy started as a team manager for Dave Amsler at the Strikers.&nbsp; When Dave started FC Richmond Peggy came with him and served as the first Director of Operations and Registrar.&nbsp; Peggy then went on to become the Director of Operations and Registrar for the Virginia Club Champions League (VCCL).&nbsp; On February 1st Peggy retired from most of her day-to-day duties with the VCCL.&nbsp; FC Richmond would like to thank Peggy Borgard for her years of service to FC Richmond, the VCCL and youth soccer in Virginia.&nbsp; She leaves a lasting legacy of hundreds of youth soccer players in Virginia who have benefited from her guidance!</p>]]>

      <title>KYLE MIDDLETON PAVILION DEDICATED AT HUGUENOT PARK</title>

        <![CDATA[<p>On Wednesday, November 7th FC Richmond and Chesterfield County officially dedicated the new Corporal Kyle Middleton Pavilion at Huguenot Park.&nbsp; Kyle Middleton played on the FC Richmond &rsquo;83 Magic team from U9 through U16. <img alt="" align="right" width="175" height="233" src="http://www.fcrichmond.com/imgs/home/Kyle soccer Magic jersey smaller.jpg" /></p><p>Kyle was a great asset to the team and the club.&nbsp; Dave Amsler describes him as a a player who always gave 100% and was always a team player.&nbsp; Kyle played with the club for eight years and travelled to Holland with FC.</p><p><img alt="" align="left" width="200" height="150" src="http://www.fcrichmond.com/imgs/home/Kyle_Official_Miltary smaller.jpg" />After high school and college at Old Dominion University, Kyle entered the military serving in the Army.&nbsp; Corporal Middleton served with the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Ft. Campbell KY.&nbsp; Kyle served his country with honor and courage.&nbsp; Kyle was killed in action in Afghanistan on November 22, 2010.&nbsp; He was awarded both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, the 4th highest military combat decoration.</p><p>Before Kyle deployed to Afghanistan he made some decisions about his life and legacy should he not return from combat.&nbsp; Kyle felt that his time playing for, and being a part of FC Richmond so shaped the person he had become that he wanted to leave a portion of his life insurance to FC Richmond.&nbsp;Kyle wanted to give back to the<img alt="" align="right" width="300" height="199" src="http://www.fcrichmond.com/imgs/home/Ribbon Cutting 2 smaller.jpg" /> organization he felt he&nbsp;had gained so much from.&nbsp; His wish was for FC to use his gift to build something lasting for the players.</p><p>Two years later on a cold, rainy Wednesday morning Kyle&rsquo;s family and friends, FC Richmond Board Members, players&nbsp;and staff and Chesterfield County representatives gathered to dedicate and cut the ribbon on this beautiful pavilion in Kyle&rsquo;s honor.&nbsp; This pavilion that will provide shelter and protection for our plyers and their competitors for so many years to come was made possible by a young man who was most definitely one of America&rsquo;s Finest.&nbsp; Please visit the pavilion and read the dedication plaque.&nbsp; Please pass along the story of this extraordinary young man and his lasting gift to FC Richmond.</p><p><img alt="" align="left" width="300" height="199" src="http://www.fcrichmond.com/imgs/home/Ribbon Cutting 6 smaller.jpg" /></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>L to R: Dave Amsler, Kyle&rsquo;s father Hank Middleton, Kyle&rsquo;s mother Marlene Blackburn, Dan Gecker</p>]]>

Ian, pictured above was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Germinoma. Ian has been battling the cancer since January and continues to do well. Ian is now in the radiation phase of treatment and continues to do well. Many of Ian&rsquo;s former teammates at William and Mary have started StoweStrong to help benefit Ian and cancer awareness. font-size: 10pt">2)&nbsp;John Le Lay PDP World Cup &ndash; John started the &ldquo;World Cup&rdquo; for the U8 &amp; U9 PDP program several years ago.&nbsp;It was truly one of his favorite events on the soccer calendar.&nbsp;Beginning with the Spring 2011 PDP World Cup, we will rename the event the John Le Lay World Cup.&nbsp;Details of the specifics to this event and how we will honor John through the day&rsquo;s festivities will be given out as we get closer to the spring.&nbsp;</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left">&nbsp;</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left"><span style="color: #000080; </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left">&nbsp;</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left"><span style="color: #000080; font-size: 10pt">John has been a member of the FC Richmond family for twenty-five years and contributed to the lives of so many youth soccer players in the Richmond area.&nbsp; John&rsquo;s love and passion for the game of soccer will surely be missed.&nbsp; It is that same love and passion that will live on in the players that had the pleasure of being coached by John.&nbsp; During his time with FC Richmond, John served as a Magic coach, Mystx coach, Metro coach, and most recently the U8 PDP Coach.&nbsp; John was a beloved man throughout the FC Richmond community.&nbsp; Every player that was coached by Coach Le Lay, immediately became a better player and a better person.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left">&nbsp;</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left">&nbsp;</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left">&nbsp;</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="left"><span style="color: #000080;
