We are thrilled to announce that our club will be joining MLS NEXT’s new competition tier starting September 2025. MLS Next is the top boys soccer league in the country and FC Richmond will be the first and only club in Richmond to join this league – marking a historic moment for youth soccer in Richmond.
Our U13 – U19 Magic Elite MLS NEXT teams will compete in this league alongside some of the most talented young athletes and reputable clubs in the nation. Joining this league will afford our players the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level while bolstering talent identification opportunities for college, professional and national team scouts to evaluate our players on a regular basis. We encourage you to join us as we compete in this new and exciting league. Learn more about MLS NEXT New Competition Tier HERE.
We are excited to announce that our U13 – U19 Girls Elite teams will compete in the Girls Academy ASPIRE League. ASPIRE serves as a critical bridge between the Girls Academy top-tier league and the highly competitive landscape of elite youth soccer. ASPIRE introduces a performance-driven model where clubs must apply and meet specific criteria for acceptance, ensuring that every team competes at the appropriate level while upholding the highest standards of player and club development.
Our acceptance into ASPIRE comes after a substantial evaluation process and marks yet another key milestone for FC Richmond. As we continue to strengthen our girls’ program with new staff leadership and enhanced programming, this development couldn’t come at a better time. ASPIRE shares our goal to propel girls’ soccer forward and create an environment where every player has a place to develop, compete and succeed at the highest level possible. We hope you will join us as we continue to strengthen our girls’ program and compete in this new and exciting league. Learn more about ASPIRE HERE.
"Playing for FCR was the best decision I have ever made. I came from a small town and moved to FCR for ADP. From there I not only learned how to excel on the pitch but off the pitch as well. FCR taught me discipline, resilience, and instilled confidence in me that I carry with me through every minute of every day. They created a professional atmosphere from a young age which is what it takes to take it to the next level. At age 7 I told my mom I would play for the University of Virginia and because of FCR, I can proudly say I am a member of the UVA men’s soccer team. FCR brought me together with teammates that became family, disciplines that became routines, and moments that became endless memories. I have traveled the nation and the world playing soccer due to FCR and it has truly shaped me into who I am today- both as a Pre-Med student and soccer player at one of the top institutions in the nation." - Parker Sloan, Current UVA Mens Soccer Team
"FC Richmond means everything to me when I think about where I received the coaching that developed me from a youth player into a professional one. Personally, I dedicate the Coerver camps at FC Richmond to developing the technical side of my game. I practiced these 9 moves at home with my dad daily and turned fast footwork into my biggest asset." - Nick Taitague, former professional player for FC Schalke 04
"I’ve played soccer with FC Richmond almost my entire life, and I’ll forever be grateful for the family, community, and leadership opportunities the club has given me. Through FC Richmond, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Junior Board of Directors, allowing me to pursue various initiatives that have shaped my character in ways “beyond the game” of soccer. I have also grown into a confident player on the field through the guidance of my FCR family. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better club soccer experience!" - Brielle Karjane, U19 Mystx Elite player, FCR Junior Board President
“I am thankful that I chose FC Richmond as the foundation of my youth career. From the age of 8 to 18, FCR instilled the qualities both on and off the field that guided me to the player and person that I was and am today.” - Luis Rendon, Gatorade National Player of the Year, Duke Men's Soccer team, FCR Coach
"FC Richmond is more like a community than a club. I’ve had five kids at various levels and each experience has been very positive. I’ve been a player, a parent, and a coach and I’m always proud to wear the FC Richmond logo." - Rebecca Madison, FCR Parent, Hall of Fame Player, & Coach
