Background Check Policy Co-Sponsored Youth Organizations
Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors approved the National Background Check for those individuals associated with cosponsored youth leagues (i.e. coaches, board members, etc). All NEW coaches will be required to go through the new background check process, which includes fingerprinting. All approved individuals will be sent a national background check card with an expiration date of three years. Current background check cardholders may be selected for random background checks.

VYSA SAFESPORT POLICY
The VYSA Board of Directors unanimously passed an updated SafeSport policy in August 2019 to include requirements from US Soccer.
All clubs and leagues are required to become familiar and adhere to all aspects of the new policy.

SAFESPORT TRAINING FOR YOUTH
The U.S. Center for SafeSport has released five training modules focused on Youth Athletes. The modules are age-based:
Each training module is 10-20 minutes in length. A parent/guardian must first create a SafeSport account in order to give consent for their child to access the training and select the module for their child's age. The training is free and can be found HERE
